As you may be aware, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will soon take effect on May 25th 2018. SSC has been tracking the impact of this regulation for many months, which largely impacts employers doing business in the European Union (EU) or who have employees who are EU residents.
In preparation of this event, SSC has developed an international disclosure and authorization sample/template for candidate signature. With the guidance of our international researchers and the NAPBS (National Association of Professional Background Screeners) we feel that this release addresses the pertinent considerations of the GDPR. It is important to know that the GDPR has yet to release specific guidance on release requirements, and that SSC’s sample template is subject to change if/when that data is available. As always, SSC suggests that you consult with legal counsel regarding your organizations specific compliance with this regulation, as any other.
SSC Background Screening and Investigation Department is considered a “Controller” and “Processor”. Our Data Protection Officer has been identified as:
Pierre Rhodes, SSC BSI Supervisor
